Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an energy-based medicine that is one of the oldest and still one of the most widely practiced forms of medicine in the world. Acupuncture supports the body’s innate healing potential by improving microcirculation, increasing tissue healing, regulating hormones and calming the nerves system.  Acupuncture is extremely gentle but powerful because it stimulates the body’s own resources

Common Questions

Are there side-effects?

Generally, there are no side-effects, other than occasional mild bruising (this rarely happens).

Is acupuncture safe?

Acupuncture is extremely safe when performed by a trained and licensed acupuncturist. Laura Puckett is certified with Clean Needle Technique (CNT) and is nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Lotus Acupuncture uses single use only, pre-sterilized, medical grade needles. After each treatment, the needles are disposed of in a medical sharps container and not reused.

How long does it take to work?

Most patients experience a complete resolution of symptoms in 12 weeks. After that, many choose to come in for regular maintenance visits. But, our goal is to get you to where you no longer need treatment and will be so happy with your results you’ll send us all your friends and family.

Will I bleed?

The acupuncture needles do not cause any bleeding whatsoever. Occasionally a drop of blood will appear at the insertion site, upon removal of the needles, and this is easily cleaned with a simple cotton swab.

What Does Acupuncture Treat?

Because Acupuncture increases the body’s own healing potential, it is not limited in its potential to heal. Acupuncture is a complete medical system that does not separate the body, mind, and spirit. It can treat everything from allergies and chronic pain to the common cold. Here are just a few issues acupuncture can treat:
